Nanami Nomura – Pianist
Originally from Japan, pianist Nanami Nomura is a versatile musician known for her passionate and dedicated performances as a song accompanist and chamber musician. She has a particular interest in exploring and reviving the works of female composers, developing unique programs to bring their music back into the spotlight.
Together with her duo partner, Frieda Jolande Barck, Nanami has performed at numerous competitions and concerts. In 2023, the duo won the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Josephine Lang Competition in Tübingen. In 2022, they were awarded Third Prize and a Special Prize at the international "Triomphe de l'Art" competition in Brussels. Their invitation to the Hugo Wolf Academy in 2024 marked a significant step in their artistic journey.
In the spring of 2025, the duo will perform at the Sibelius Singing Competition in Helsinki.
Nanami is also an accomplished répétiteur and frequently collaborates with renowned choirs such as the Rundfunkchor Berlin and the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin.
Her musical path began at Aichi University of the Arts in Japan, where she studied solo piano with Prof. Soichiro Matsumoto, earning her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from 2013 to 2019. Even during her time in Japan, she showed a strong passion for song accompaniment and chamber music. To further refine her skills in song interpretation, she continued her studies under Prof. Wolfram Rieger at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.
Since 2022, Nanami has been a faculty member for collaborative piano at the Berlin University of the Arts.
